Home Uncategorized Your Ultimate Packing List for a Long Family Vacation – ListDen

Getting ready for a family vacation is both exciting and overwhelming, especially when you are planning it abroad. There is a ton of luggage with the kids and so many last-minute tasks to get you covered throughout your trip.

However, to save your time and help keep you organized; I have enlisted a few things you would need.

  1. Packing Cubes

The best way to pack for your family vacation is to use packing cubes. They make your life hassle-free as you can divide up your family’s clothes and find them easily without making a mess of your entire suitcase. But buy the ones with a transparent window, or you will go nuts in searching what is inside of each cube.

  1. Clothing and Accessories

There is no fixed number of clothing items you can take, as this will depend on the destination and trip duration you have planned. But there are a few items that you should not forget taking along – shorts, trousers, dresses/skirts, t-shirts, sweaters, socks, shapewear, innerwear, sleepwear, raincoat, slippers, sneakers, swimsuits (if it is a beach destination), watch, and a wide-brimmed hat.

  1. Electronic Items

If you are taking your iPods, iPad Minis, and other electronic items along, then you need to keep a universal adapter as well. Since every country has different kinds of plugs and levels of voltage, an adapter will help you to operate your electronic gadgets in another country. You can buy yours here.

  1. First Aid Kit

Many of your medical items may get difficult to locate in foreign cities. And in a case where you or any of your family member ends up with an illness or a mishap, finding a pharmacy will be nothing less than stress. So, make sure you pack thermometer, antiseptic cream and wipes, tweezers, vitamin supplements, motion sickness tablets, and special medication for cold, fever, and allergies for your kids.

  1. Sunscreen Lotion/Spray

Whether you are going to a beach or somewhere cold, a sunscreen comes handy for your whole family. I recommend keeping a couple of travel-friendly UV protectant lotion bottles, so you have enough to keep everyone protected from harmful sun rays and don’t have to find it after reaching your destination.

  1. Travel Sized Toiletries

When gathering your essential toiletries, always look for the ones that are in small packaging and are travel-friendly. Ditch the regular bottles, and buy travel-sized versions of shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, body lotion, mouthwash, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairdryer, detergents, hand sanitizers, and a washcloth. This would be a great way to lighten your suitcase load.

  1. Beauty Essentials

When traveling, you should try to keep your beauty routine as simple as possible. Take along a waterproof eyeliner and mascara and your favorite BB cream (with SPF) to provide you sun protection and light face coverage. Don’t forget a pack or two of facial wipes for a quick and convenient face cleansing.
